Kevin Kelly at Linux Foundation Member Summit
Aside from seeing a lot of friends I've made in the open source world, as well as giving a talk, one of the absolute highlights of my week was bring able to meet Kevin Kelly and say hello.
If you are somehow not familiar with Kevin Kelly, he is the founding executive editor of Wired magazine and a former editor and publisher of the Whole Earth Review. I've been reading him for many years, and always appreciate his perspective. With that in mind, I know he travels to China quite a bit - and I'm potentially heading there myself in a few weeks. I asked for some recommendations and any insight he could share on data, travel, and getting along while in a place that from the outside sounds like a challenge. He eased any concerns I may have had about getting around the city, and pointed me to a blog entry he'd put out not long ago. Super helpful. Here's his post for those interested: 'Essentials for Independent Travel in China'
